HOUSEKEEPER (LIVE-IN OR OUT) FOR FAMILY, ASCOT, BERKS.      UK 8384

Job Description: For a beautiful part-time residence in Ascot Berkshire, we are looking for a full-time experienced live-out or live-in housekeeper. Flexibility, expertise in high end housekeeping and driving are essential.  

The family travel extensively and spent only a few weeks a year at the property. The property consists of 5 bedrooms, a spa and a separate guest house. The interior is of the finest throughout with high quality furniture including antiques, marble, art works and fine furnishings. There is one other full-time and one part/time housekeeper and several ground staff. The role reports to the house manager. The family own one small dogs who travels with them.

The duties include:

-    All housekeeping duties (cleaning, dusting, polishing, mopping. etc.)

-    Care of laundry and couture wear including ironing and sorting

-    Personal shopping (e.g. Central London) if required

-    Accept and put away deliveries

-    Assist with inventories

-    Report on any issue that need addressing and liaising with contractors

-    Assist with other tasks within the grounds if needed

 

Candidate requirements:

-    3-5 years’ experience within a private household

-    Live locally or within easily commutable distance

-    Excellent high end housekeeping and laundry skill

-    Meticulous eye for detail

-    Strong communications and reporting skills

-    Availability to work more hours if required (time in lieu given)

 

We are looking for candidates who are well presented, helpful, motivated, responsible, able to work as part of a team or on their own and who can offer some flexibility in respect of working hours if required. The whole team has a strong and excellent work ethic with a common goal of reading the property for family visits. Candidates should have very high standards and be able to take the initiative, follow instructions, be competent and professional in their conduct and be used to dealing with demanding, changing and detailed requests. Computer literacy is an advantage.

Live-in accommodation is a modern en-suite room, separate entrance and small cooking facilities, staff mess and laundry on site.

A DBS check and written references from past private employers will be required. To start in Sept. 2017

Hours: To work 8am – 4.30 pm Monday to Friday (for 8 hours). 30 min breakfast and 30 min for lunch. Slightly less working hours are possible.

 

Salary & Benefits: £28000 - £30000 gross a year (less so if live-in) plus holidays.

LIVE-OUT HEAD HOUSEKEEPER, KNIGHTSBRIDGE, LONDON           UK 8384

Job Description: For a Middle Eastern family living in Knightsbridge, we are looking for a live-out Head Housekeeper with at least 5 years’ experience in private service. Excellent knowledge of laundry and couture care required. Some travel.

The family own several homes and use the Mayfair property 2-3 weeks at a time every couple of months. The property has 8 bedrooms over 6 floors including a basement spa/ pool area/ gym as well as a roof top garden, all newly refurbished with lavish interiors. There are 3 full-time house keepers, 1 handyman/ gardener at the property and a chef, housekeeper and nanny who travel with the family. There are no pets but children as young as 5 years old.

The Head housekeeper is to oversee the staff in London, ensuring standards are upheld, including rotas, overseeing contractors, ordering products and reporting to and liaising with the family office in UAE. Knowledge of caring for silks, cashmere, furs and velvets are essential as well as couture wear. The Head Housekeeper also assists with the packing and stocking of toiletries and prepares the house for the family. There is an extended family who will often join the family but rarely stay once the family have left. The Head Housekeeper should have good experience in handling couture wear and fine linens. At a later point, there may be some travel to other properties (Paris, Cannes and Zurich) in order to ensure properties are run to the same standard.

The family are semi-formal and like to treat their staff well. Normal hours of work are 8-5 Mon to Fri, but longer days (including weekends) when they are visiting (with time in lieu). We are looking for candidates who have previously run the housekeeping of large high end private houses with several staff. Good writing skills are essential and living within commutable distance (accommodation can be provided temporarily, if the job requires it). Candidates must be hands-on, exceptionally well organized and able to maintain high standards.

Job Description: For a HNW family with two children we are looking for an experienced housekeeper to work in their Mayfair property, full-time, live-out.

The property consist of 6 bedrooms over 3 floors, two other housekeepers. a head housekeeper and chef are employed. There is a pool in the basement and a terrace on the roof with lots of plants. This is a full-time residence with lots of visitors staying over. There are no pets and there is a staff entrance and staff room (with changing facilities).

The duties include all laundry care, including silks, cashmere and fine linens, caring and storing of couture wear and bespoke suits. (laundry room provided) and all cleaning to very high standards. This includes the making of beds, dusting surfaces, preparing rooms for guests, cleaning silver ware, running errands if necessary and tidying rooms. No cooking required. Knowledge of cleaning silver and caring for high end wardrobes is essential. The interior is modern and newly furbished.

The hours are Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm and 10am till 7pm in two weekly shifts including breaks. Some weekend work may be required (up to 3 hours) on occasion and is paid extra.

We are looking for candidates who have exceptionally high standards and have previously worked for HNW families (full-time). An eye for detail is essential and being able to work as part of a team. Fluency in English is essential and being able to commute easily. Experience of looking after outdoor plants and flower arranging is an advantage.

EXPERIENCED HANDYMAN FOR PRIVATE ESTATE, ASCOT, BERKS.  UK8379

Job Description: For a large private estate with several properties in Berkshire and abroad we are looking for a hands-on Handyman with excellent technical skills. Valid drivers’ license a must and good knowledge of health and safety.

The grounds comprise several acres, a large main house, two more properties, a large spa/ pool complex, smaller outbuildings and offices. The interior is of a very high spec and includes underfloor heating, detailed LED lighting (indoor and outdoor), security, AV/ AC systems as well as humidifiers. The estate is fully staffed and the Principal visits on occasions.

The duty of the Handyman is to check and ensure everything is working smoothly:

-    Small DIY, paint and repair jobs

-    Changing of light bulbs and basic car maintenance (and MOT)

-    Keeping machinery oiled and maintained

-    Assist with servicing AC/ AV systems, generators, heating systems where possible

-    Depending on skills set, assist with renovating paths

-    Reporting any malfunction or replacements needed

-    Check fire alarms, change batteries and service locks

-    Perform basic car maintenance and cleaning, including golf buggies, if necessary

-    Carry out ad-hoc work as required

The Handyman reports to the House Manager and the Deputy House Manager.

We are looking for candidates who have a good technical background with excellent manual skills, able to work to high standards. Sound IT knowledge is an advantage – as this is an estate run with the latest technology. Candidate should have previous experience having worked in private or commercial properties.

The skills set is be well organized, hands-on, have excellent maintenance knowledge, be technically savvy. Other skills are to be able to keep to timelines, be able to carry out small projects, have good communications skills and be flexible. Candidates must have good knowledge of health and safety and be proactive. We are seeking candidates who are happy to work in a team, assisting others if necessary and who are able to work on their own.

The work hours are from 8am to 4.30pm from Mon – Fri (with time in lieu for overtime) and weekend work may be required when the Principal is visiting. There  are changing rooms on site as well as a shower and a room for breaks. Temporary accommodation can be provided initially.

Written references from past employers are essential as well as a current DBS check. To start asap.
