Job description: For a repeat client we are looking for an experienced House Manager with light cooking, service and valet skills to oversee their formally run beautiful large property in W. Kensington, 6 days a week, live-in (self-contained accommodation provided within the house). To start as soon as possible.

The house manager is to oversee the property and staff (housekeepers/ chef/ driver). The household has been set up formally and there is some entertaining of guests. When it is just the family, the atmosphere is semi-formal.

The duties:

- Schedule and supervise staff

- Prepare property for visits

- Oversee contractors and liaise with family office

- Manage budgets and petty cash

- Hands on housekeeping, service and valeting

- Some light cooking (when chef off) and occasional driving

- Taking care of pets (shared amongst staff)

- Oversee inventories and liaise with office


Candidates must be formally trained and have experience of managing fully staffed formal households. Must be able to ensure the property is child safe and be familiar with London (suppliers and driving). We are looking for candidates who are well presented, hard-working, flexible, very organized and take great pride in their work, able to deliver to very high standards. Excellent valet skills essential.

To work 6 days a week (time in lieu when Principals travelling). Uniform and cooked lunch is provided. Written references from past private employers are essential as well as a recent DBS check. To start as soon as possible.

 

Salary & Benefits:  £70000 - £75000 gross a year, depending on experience and holidays, self-contained apartment.

Job description: For a new client we are looking for a fluent German/ English speaking House Manager to manage their properties, based in Zurich, own accommodation provided.

The family (3 young children) travel considerable. The properties are along Zurich lake and in Davos, spending only a few weeks in each. On occasion other family members will visit. The Zurich house has 7 bedroom, was recently built and is furnished to very high standards, including modern technology. The Davos chalet has 5 bedroom with a pool complex and outbuildings. Two full-time housekeepers are based in Zurich and travel to Davos when required. The family have nannies, a PA, a chef and a driver who travel with them.

 The duties:

-To ensure both properties are running smoothly

-create snag list for contractors, oversee work

-To check all technical installations are working

-Set up household utilities/ contracts

-Purchase all items required for a visit

-Manage wardrobes/ packing

-Provide service if required

-Concierge services

-Oversee budgets

-To open and close houses

-To set up and oversee any family parties/ events

-Travel to other properties if required

The requirements:

-5-10 years experience of overseeing large staffed formal properties

-highly organized and well presented

-fluency in German and English

-experience of having worked in Switzerland

-longevity in previous roles

-Good reporting and accounting skills

-basic cooking skills

The client is looking for a reliable house manager who has excellent knowledge of Switzerland, since they are new to the country. Local knowledge of best schools and kindergartens are of great benefit. It is a semi-formal household although the entertaining is formal. Key for this family is flexibility and that the properties are always ready for any spontaneous visits by the family or their relatives. Self-contained apartment provided close by in Zurich and within the grounds in Davos.

To work 5 days a week, 8am – 5pm when the family are not in residence, longer hours (with time I lieu) when the family visit.

Job description: For a lovely young family in St. John’s Wood we are looking for an experienced female butler (for cultural reasons) to work full-time in shifts. No driving required. Shift work with an early start, cooked meals provided. Previous private household and/or 5 star hotel experience essential.

The household/ family:

6 bedroom beautiful property with large laundry, over 15 staff including 3 other butlers, housekeepers, nannies, chefs and security. 4 children (from a baby to age 15), charming parents, father travels much. Busy well-structured household running like clockwork. Family travel much and are always away for the school holidays and the summer. No pets. The role works in a team of three other butlers and reports to the house manager.

The duties:

- Welcome and assisting family and guests

- Assist keeping property tidy and clean

- Pack und unpack luggage and care for wardrobes

- Set and clear tables, provide table and drinks service

- Wash, clean and care for fine china, crystal and silver

- Prepare for and serve at events

- Assist with travel preparations and food purchases

- Carry out inventories

- Run errands and dispose of rubbish

Requirements:

- Min 3 years private household and/ or 5 star hotel experience

- Excellent service skills

- Ability to care for high end wardrobes/ fine china and silver

- Fluency in English

- Able to work shifts (must live locally)

- Ability to work as a team

- Good organizational skills and positive mind set

We are looking for candidates who are well presented, polite and who take pride in their work. Attention to detail and high standards are essential as well as a professional attitude. Candidates should be able to prioritize, anticipate the family’s needs, be flexible, reliable and have excellent communications skills. Uniforms including shoes are provided. Deep cleaning of curtains and cushions is carried out externally and a company cleans the windows.

The hours/ shifts are:

I       6.45am (7.30am at weekends) - 3.15pm  (an hour for lunch)

II       2.30pm - 11.00pm (an hour’s break) till 00.30am if family in residence

If transport is necessary it may be provided, if working late.

To work 6 days a week followed by 2 days off [consecutive days]. No overtime pay. Discretionary bonuses (none contractual).

To start Nov./ Dec 2017. A DBS security check and written references from private employers are essential.

Salary & Benefits:  £35000 - £37000 gross/ year depending on experience plus holidays and discretionary bonus/ loyalty bonus
