Job description: For a HNW family in Notting Hill we are looking for a second House Manager to work alongside the current one. Formal valet skills, driving and cooking skills essential. We are looking for house managers who had formal house management/ butler training.

The family lives in a very large house which is fully staffed including housekeepers, nannies and drivers. The interior is of the finest, including the furnishings and couture wardrobes. Standards are very high. The family have several young children and frequently travel from 3-6 weeks. The current chef works from late morning till late.

This new role is to assist and share the workload of the current house manager. Both house managers are to work in 10 hour shifts over 6 days to cover breakfast and dinner. Good cooking skills are essential and a willingness to learn from the private chef how to prepare simple healthy meals to high standards.

The second house manager is working in tandem with the current one, offering great flexibility by being able to step in where needed at any time (driving, errands, cooking a snack, etc.). The house is run semi-formal with formal occasions and there are several dogs.

The duties:

  • Prepare and serve breakfast (in shifts), training provided
  • Pack and unpack
  • Provide a refined valet service to the gentleman
  • Lay tables, serve meals and drinks
  • Oversee housekeeping
  • Ready rooms (lights, fires, candles)
  • Manage contractors
  • Take in deliveries
  • Liaise with family office
  • Prepare light meals (on chef’s day off), training provided
  • Run errands, take dogs out for walks, babysit, if required
  • Drive family members, if required

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years# experience as HM ideally in the UK
  • Formal training in house management or butler service
  • Expert knowledge of valet service
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Excellent communications and management skills
  • Highly discreet and very flexible
  • Able to work as a team and be proactive
  • Clean drivers licence and current DBS 

The family are looking for a polished House Manager who is refined in formal service skills (knowledge of valet and drinks service, table laying, flower arranging, fine wines, welcoming guests,  etc.). The House Manager should have good cooking skills and be willing to improve those skills with the help of the current private chef. We are looking for someone who has a trained eye with exceptional manners, able to quickly assess what is required and deliver a very high standard of service throughout and consistently. Flexibility is key for this role.

Written reference from past private families will be required.

Since the family travel much and there are two people covering the role of house manager role, there is considerable downtime when the family are away.

Hours: 10 hours a day for 6 days a week (first shift is 7am – 5pm)

Job description: For a discerning couple based in Geneva, we are looking for a travelling permanent Butler/ PA, live in. Fluency in French and English essential (ideally also German) as well as formal butler training.

 The couple have a large property on lake Geneva and employ a housekeeper and gardener. Both travel extensively and are seeking a formally trained butler who will travel with them. There are no pets and the couple rarely entertain at home, but frequently go out. Travel is around 70- 80% of the time.

The duties are:

  • Pack and unpack, arrange clothing and care for it
  • Arrange all travel and transport (including private travel)
  • Manage both their diaries, nook social engagements and set up small events
  • Provide a concierge service on location (book restaurants, shows etc.)
  • Serve drinks (pre-dinner) and pack/unpack
  • Prepare light meals on occasions
  • Oversee the household in Geneva including contractors
  • Liaise with the family office
  • Deliver personal requests and run errands

 Requirements: 

  • Formal butler training
  • Extensive travel and concierge experience globally
  • Private service experience of at least 8 years
  • Fluency in English/ French – ideally also German

The couple seek a candidate who is very pleasant and positive minded, discreet and polite at all times. Previous experience of travelling with a family is paramount as well as good knowledge of liaising with pilots and captains. The butler/ PA must be able to adjust to sudden changes in schedule, think well ahead and cope well under pressure as things can get hectic.

The accommodation provided is a self-contained apartment within the property in Geneva. While travelling a single room or apartment will be provided, depending on length of stay. All subsistence is covered.

The hours are 8am – 6pm with an hour for lunch, Mon- Fri with flexibility and time in lieu when travelling. To start as soon as possible. Written references from private employers will be required as well as a current DBS check.

PROPERTY MANAGER OF THREE CHATEAUX, SW FRANCE                  F 9431

Job description: For a new client a Family Office who own three large chateaux in France we are looking for a property manager to manage the private family visits and the commercial side of the operation.  Fluency in French/ English a must plus drivers’ license.

The chateaux (two 4 bedroom, one 6 bedroom property) are located in the south west of France, have been newly refurbished and updated (one to be completed shortly) and are surrounded by gardens and orchards as well as outdoor pools and tennis courts within the grounds. The properties are furnished to high standards in a mix of modern and antique furniture, stylish yet relaxed. The French American family are based in Paris and they themselves and their extended families visit the properties. For about 50% of the rest of the year, the properties will be let commercially (special events/ sole occupancy only). The bookings are handled through an agent. This is a newly created role and the venture is new although the family office has run similar operations successfully in another country.

Most of the local staff have been taken over from the previous owners and are in place.

 

The duties of the Property Manager: 

  • Ensure the properties are maintained well and to high standards
  • Oversee repairs and contractors
  • In charge of housekeeping and kitchen-
  • Hiring of local staff (e.g. chefs) and staff training, if required
  • Manage staff schedules and work load
  • Travel between properties
  • Oversee the administration of the properties
  • Liaise with the agenty and family office and report back
  • Provide local information/ front of house contact
  • Ensure properties are secure (and closed down when needed)

We are looking for a French/ English speaker who has previously managed several private properties and who has hotel training/ background. Knowledge of French systems, billing, admin is vital. The role has strong front of house elements and will include hands on skills when required as well as administrative strengths. Well organized, able to take the initiative and think ahead, excellent problem solving skills, great communicator and people skills, Candidates must be able to drive and work well under pressure. Previous experience in France is essential.

To work 5 days a week with flexible hours. During events or family visits 6 days may be required (with time in lieu). A car is provided.

Job description:  A new client a Russian family who own several properties are looking for a Yacht/ Property Manager to be based between the Porto Cervo villa, the 70m yacht (mostly Med trips) as well as another large villa on Lake Como. Fluency in Italian/ English as well experience in of working in Italy essential.

The Russian family with 2 young children and a small team of travelling staff live permanently in Russia but for their holidays visit Italy (and for weekends). Standards are high and some local staff are employed.

The duties of the Yacht/ Property Manager:

  • To maintain the service standards in all properties
  • Train staff
  • Ready properties and yacht for visits
  • Ensure exact requirements are met and exceeded
  • Liaise with local contractors (incl. florists, hairdressers, architects)
  • Provide local information and organize trips if required
  • Hands on service or housekeeping if needed
  • Very occasionally travel back to Russia with family
