Job Description: For a HNW couple we are looking for a Russian speaking Private Chef to work in the South of France over July and August 2017.

The couple rented a 6 bedroom villa in St. Jean Cap Ferrat. There are housekeeping staff at hand and a driver. There is a staff house within the grounds. The kitchen is new and fully equipped. The couple entertain frequently with family, friends and VIPs visiting. There are no children or pets.

The duties are to provide breakfast, light lunches and dinner 6 days a week. Shop for fresh produce, store items and prepare. The diet is healthy and international with lots of fish and chicken and there are up to 12 guests (with plenty of notice). The family do not have any special diet but some guests have intolerances of lactose/ gluten and allergies to nuts. The client would like the chef to serve the meals at the table. The housekeeping staff is able to assist with clearing and preparing food. Dishes should be well presented and created with flair and imagination. Having worked at Michelin level is of benefit.

The accommodation is a well appointed en-suit air conditioned room within the staff house. A car for shopping is provided.

The client is looking for a well-presented experienced chef who is able to impress their visitors and cook delicious meals. Exact hours are to be discussed, afternoons are free. Candidates must be Russian/ English speaking.

To start early July after a short cooking trial. Written references and a security check will be required.

TRAVELLING PRIVATE CHEF FOR FAMILY, LONDON BASED              UK 8376

Job Description: For an international young family we are looking for a Travelling Chef to provide nutritionally balanced meals, based in London (live-in). Nutritional knowledge essential (calorie intake) and experience in cooking for children. Females only for cultural reason.

The family own property in Asia and London and travel extensively throughout Europe (as much a 50% of the time) and stay anything from 1 – 3 weeks with some long-haul travel once or twice a year (Australia/ USA). The young couple have one baby, two nannies, a trainer and housekeeper who travel with them and there are no pets. There is little or no entertaining, but there may be a small number of guests occasionally. The Chef cooks for the family only and there are no budget restraints.

The duty of the travelling chef is to take sole responsibility of the family’s nutrition.

- Creating menus

- Sourcing the freshest local produce possible

- Cooking meals that are nutritionally balanced for optimum health benefits.

- Keeping the kitchens clean and tidy to high hygienic standards

- Storing foods properly and overseeing dry stores (when in London/ Asia)

- Keeping track of expenses

Breakfast is at 9am, lunch at 2pm and dinner at 8pm. Mainly European and international cuisine, simple and light dishes, varied, tasty and well presented. There are no special diets (no pork) or intolerances but experience of cooking for babies is essential. All dishes should have their calorific value worked out.

Since the family stay much of the time in hotels and apartments (returning to the same ones) the chef needs to be flexible with the facilities on offer, cooperating with the local staff. As there are several chefs at their property in Asia (fully staffed household with accommodation in the guest house for the chef), the travelling chef supervises their work. The chef assists in laying the table and serving the food.

 

We are seeking a chef who has a good understanding of nutrition able to create healthy meals. Candidates should be well organized, flexible, independent, well presented and adaptable, able to create delicious dishes with the foods available locally. Qualifications are not required, but previous private family (with children) experience is essential, ideally in a travelling capacity.

The work hours are approx. 8.30am to 2.30pm and 5pm to 9pm with some flexibility over 5 or 6 days depending on the needs of the family. The family is happy to provide extra time off when needed and offers flexibility in that regard . Accommodation (single rooms in hotels) and travel is provided - live-in accommodation in London is possible. Written references from past private employers are essential as well as a current DBS security check.

To start as soon as possible. As the family is leaving before the end of April, a decision needs to be made prior.

Salary & Benefits: £50- £65K gross a year (under a UK contract and depending on experience.
