Domestic Couple, Notting Hill, London

JOB FILLED: For a busy family we are looking for a Domestic Couple (Housekeeper/ Cook & Handyman/ Driver/ Butler) to care for a large town house in Notting Hill, London. Drivers essential as well as good knowledge of London and one should be experienced in cooking.

The family consist of a HNW couple with two children who go to private school. A nanny looks after the children part-time. The family often have visitors and like to entertain at weekends. Additional housekeeping staff can be drawn in if needed. The household is run informally with formal occasions when entertaining or for special events. The property has 5 bedrooms and a large garden and adjoining staff accommodation. The interior has been refurbished two years ago and it is light and modern and easy to maintain. Once a fortnight a gardener is employed.

The duties of the Domestic Couple (the duties are shared between the couple):

• All housekeeping duties
• Planning, shopping for and preparing healthy meals
• Cooking family dinners (2-3 times a week) or to dinner part standard at weekends (up to 10)
• Serving meals/ drinks when entertaining
• Laundry and wardrobe management and assisting with packing
• Overseeing contractors
• Planning and decorating table for dinner parties
• Stocking up on toiletries and cupboards
• Updating household manual
• Driving duties (school runs shared with the nanny)
• Carry out small maintenance work, keeping garden and the outside clean and tidy
• Valeting of cars
• Keeping household accounts
• Running errands

Requirements:

• Min of 5 years’ experience as a domestic couple
• Both must be drivers (one should be experienced in London)
• Excellent front of house skills
• Ability to cook to dinner party standard
• Fluency in English
• Legal to live and work in the UK
• High standards and an acute eye for detail
• Recent security check
• Written references from past families

The family are looking for a couple who can work as a great team. The duties between the Domestic Couple can be divided depending on skills set. Excellent organizational skills are essential and flexibility are important. We are looking for Domestic Couples who have in the past ran large private properties to high standards. The previous Domestic Couple are returning to their home country after four years.

The couple are provided with a self-contained large one bedroom flat with a living room, kitchen and utility room that is in a property at the back of the garden. The domestic couple have access to the garden.

The hours: Wednesdays to Sundays, 8am – 6pm (weekends with a 10am start and a later finsih) and an hour for lunch. Any overtime is given back as time in lieu.

The salary: £75000- £85000 gross p. a. (for both) depending on experience, plus holidays.
