Family Assistant, Winterthur, Switzerland

JOB FILLED. For a lovely HNW family with three children (8-16) we are looking for a live-in English/ German speaking Family Assistant for Winterthur, Switzerland. Driving a must. Separate accommodation provided locally.

The family lives in a large property in large grounds on the outskirts. The children go to school locally. The house is furnished to very high standards and is easy to maintain. The mother is looking for assistance in running the household and general help in making everyday life easier. There is a part time nanny who looks after the children in the afternoons. During the school holidays the family tend to go abroad.

The duties of the Family Assistant:

• Some light housekeeping duties to high standards
• Care of the laundry
• Tidying of rooms
• School runs for the children when required
• Shopping and running errands
• Occasionally cooking of light healthy meals or helping in the kitchen
• Lay the tables and help tidy kitchen
• Ensuring the house is kept child safe
• Overseeing contractors and their work
• Obtaining quotes
• Helping with the admin of the household
• Decorate for special occasionas

Requirements of the Family Assistant:

• 3-5 years’ experience working for private families
• Fluency in German and English (the English does not have to be native, but should be fluent)
• Clean drivers’ license
• High end housekeeping skills and able to cook family meals
• Baking skills would a great plus
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• An acute eye for detail
• Written references from past employers
• Recent security check

The Family Assistant is provided with a self- contained apartment and the use of the family car. Lunchtime meals are also provided.

The family is looking for a Family Assistant who is multi-skilled, versatile and knows how to ease the mother’s life. Flexibility in regard to working hours. We seek someone with a supportive, friendly attitude as well as the ability to prioritize tasks. Experience with children is essential. .

The hours: 8am - 5pm Mon - Fri, 45 hours a week with some flexibility, 2 days off a week (to be confirmed which days)

The salary: CHF 4400 - 4700 a month net, permanent contract depending on experience.
