For a HNW French family of four we are seeking an experienced English speaking live-out Housekeeper. No driving needed, but ideally the housekeeper speaks good French. Candidates must presently be in the UK and be legal to work there.
The family live in a large 6 bedroom town house (plus attic) in Highgate, where they only moved to recently. The parents work and bring/ take the children (14 and 16 years old) to school when needed (as it is close by). It’s a busy household since they also have two small dogs and friends visited frequently and stay over. The atmosphere is relaxed and very informal. There are no other staff and contractors clean the windows/. There is a p/t gardener who looks after the lawn and the terrace. The family always go away for school holidays when less cleaning will be required and hours are reduced.
The duties of the Housekeeper:
- All housekeeping duties (mopping, sweeping, dusting, wiping)
- Laundry care and high end wardrobe management
- Changing of beds and preparing rooms for guests
- Cooking and/ or preparing family meals (shopping is mostly done online)
- Tidying rooms and watering plants
- Assisting with packing when family travels
- Pet care (taking dogs around the block and feeding them)
The requirements for the housekeeper/ cook:
- Min. of 3 years experience within private households
- Fluent English and working knowledge of French (ideally)
- Longevity in past roles
- Must already be a UK resident
- Good knowledge of healthy family meals
- High level of hygiene standards
- Written references from past families
- Recent DBS security check
The family is seeking a housekeeper who is reliable and very family friendly, able to run the household well and to high standards.
The hours: Mon - Fri. 8.30am - 5.30pm with an hour for lunch (which is provided) with some flexibility when entertaining guests
The salary: £44000 - £48000 gross p.a. depending on experience (approx. £650 - 700 net per week)
