Management Couple, South West France

JOB FILLED. For a British HNW couple we are looking for a competent English/ French speaking Management Couple (Chef and Property Manager) to run their French chateaux permanently in Haute - Garonne, South Western France. Fluency in French and having worked in France is essential.

The chateaux was recently refurbished and consists of a main building with 5 bedrooms and several self-contained chalets within large grounds (including a pool, a secret garden and many fruit trees). The couple lets the main house and chalets in the summer season over three months. The Owners employ one full-tme French housekeeper for the season and a gardener all year round and are looking for a couple who is able to manage and cater for the Owners as well as the paying guests in the summer. The interiors are of high standards with light colours, natural fabrics, wood and stone works. There are several terraces with views over the estate. Overall the service provided is casual and relaxed but of high standards. Many clients have been visiting for years. When the Owners are at the property only occasional cooking will be required when they entertain or have a special occasion.

The duties of the Management Couple (Chef & Property Manager):

• Keeping the properties tidy and clean
• Overseeing housekeeper, gardener and contractors
• Managing bookings and guest’s inquiries
• Shopping for food (local markets)
• Overseeing the admin of the properties/ accounts
• Planning and cooking meals (including special diets) to dinner party standards
• Providing a casual but immaculate service
• Dealing with online inquiries
• Overseeing contractors and obtaining quotes
• Assisting with housekeeping and light maintenance
• Keeping terraces and outside furniture clean
• Caring for two dogs when needed
• Airport trips (Toulouse)
• Support guests with info on local places
• Providing on site security while guests are booked

Requirements:

• 6 years’ experience as a domestic couple (ideally also experienced in luxury holiday rentals or high end hotels)
• Fluency in French and English
• EU passports ideally
• Previous experience of working in France 
• Excellent cooking and catering skills (incl. different diets)
• Highly organized with great front of house skills
• Flexible and able to prioritize workload
• Good handy-man skills
• Attention to detail
• Written references from past employers
• Recent security check

The Owners have high standards but are very relaxed and easy going. They wish to ensure the guest’s stays are perfect. It is important to them that the domestic couple have excellent communications skills, able to operate as a smooth team. The season (with paying guests) operates large over July, Aug and Sept. (during these months the couple will be required to work).

Accommodation is a two bedroom chalet within the grounds. Pets are allowed. A car is provided for work and private use.

Hours: Approx. 8am till 2pm and 5pm till 8pm Monday to Saturday during the summer season. Considerably less time during out of season and when the Owners travel.

Salary: €80000 - €85000 gross p.a. (plus bonus)
